Session Summary for Attendees: Immutable storage in the cloud is by far the cheapest way to reliably store large amounts of data. That is the reason why new database management system products are developed to use immutable storage. Those new designs nonetheless claim to be performant, reliable, and ACID compliant. How do these new contenders work? What is their architectural approach to implement what traditional RDBMS like Oracle achieve through concepts like UNDO management, REDO logs, etc.? How are they performing with respect to traditional designs? What are the sweet spots of the traditional and the new concepts?
Join me and attend this talk to get a thorough introduction into these new emerging database architectures. You'll find out how it may affect your life as a DBA and developer.
