Speaker Bio: Since 2003, Niels has been working for MT AG, a midsize vendor-independent IT-consultancy company based in Germany. Before that, he had been working as a consultant for Oracle in the Netherlands for two years. Since its initial release in 2004, Niels has been using and actively promoting Oracle Application Express (APEX). Together with his team of APEX experts, he is responsible for all APEX projects done by the company. Niels shares his knowledge through the website and by speaking at conferences like DOAG Conference (Germany), DOAG APEX Connect (Germany), and ODTUG Kscope (USA), among others.

As an active member at DOAG, he started the conference APEX Connect (, which grew to a three-day conference covering APEX, PL/SQL, SQL, and JavaScript. His collaboration with the APEX team, as well as his contributions for the APEX community, led him to his designation as Oracle ACE Director in 2016 and the award “DOAG Ambassador Technology 2018.”
