Speaker Bio: David Lapp is a senior principal product manager at Oracle Corporation. His responsibilities include strategy and planning for Oracle's Spatial and Graph technologies and cloud services and their use across the Oracle Cloud, including big data and analytics. Prior to his current role in product management, David spent nearly 10 years in technical pre-sales covering analytics and spatial technology for the North American public sector.

Session Summary for Attendees:  Oracle Data Visualization Desktop (DVD) provides Data Flows to perform multi-step analytics processing and prepare data for downstream exploration and visualization. Data Flows leverage built-in steps such as filter, group, merge, forecast, and many more. Data Flows also allow steps based on custom scripts developed in Python or R. This session will explain and demonstrate using Python, Oracle Spatial, and Graph (a feature of Oracle Database), and the cx_Oracle Python interface to add location analyses such as proximity and containment to a DVD Data Flow.
