Speaker Bio: Mark's first experience with Oracle was back in the 80s building applications using very early versions of Oracle Forms at Staffordshire University. Upon graduating in 1990 with a First-Class B.Sc. (Hons) in information systems, he joined Oracle UK's consultancy team, working on some of the first Oracle Application implementations across the UK, eventually working for Oracle Local Government. Over the subsequent years, until 2006, he worked in a mainly technical/functional capacity across sectors such as corporate banking, utilities and the public sector, solely on projects underpinned by Oracle technology. In 2006 he became a founding director of Beyond Systems (www.wegobeyond.co.uk), where he has honed the focus of the company to be one of enabling public sector customers to achieve excellence with Oracle Business Intelligence, especially Oracle BI applications and Data Visualization sourced from Oracle Cloud ERP and Oracle E-Business. In 2014 Beyond was awarded Oracle UK and Ireland Business Analytics Partner of the Year.
Mark has presented at many UKOUG events and joint Oracle/Beyond events, as well as contributing his perspectives on the technical/strategic business usages of Oracle to various magazines, the first on using Oracle Case Designer appearing in OCSIG magazine way back in 1995.

Session Summary for Attendees: Oracle’s latest Data Visualization tools provide a platform for rapid and confident data analysis. It is not just the increasing power of the tools that is attractive to customers, it is the ease of use and also the quality of the outputs that make this a great tool to use to comment upon data and share results. In this live demonstration we will take the participants on a whistle-stop journey from a blank canvas to a fully narrated, drillable multi-canvas analytic solution sourced from a dataflow taking several data sources (cloud and local) and enriching and blending them in order to find some key insights. The attendees should come away with an appreciation of a huge range of capabilities of the tools, some thoughts on how they can apply the techniques shown to their own data, and also the knowledge that they can do this relatively quickly.
